CHANDIGARH - Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Sunday ordered an inquiry into an incident of ammonia gas leakage from an ice factory in Hisar city.

Several children of a local school complained of nausea and vomiting while others felt irritation in their eyes after the gas leaked from the ice factory Saturday.

The affected children were rushed to a government hospital and were later discharged after treatment.

Kaka ice factory, located in Hisar’s Parao Chowk area, was sealed by the local administration following the gas leak.

A state government spokesman said Sunday that Hisar’s sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) has been appointed as the inquiry officer and asked to submit his report immediately.

The probe will ascertain the cause of the incident and identify the persons responsible for it. A first information report (FIR) has already been lodged in the case and the factory owner has been arrested by police.
