LUCKNOW - An elderly couple and their 16-year-old granddaughter were Saturday found murdered inside their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district, police said.
Kadir Ahmad, 80, and Khurshida, 70, were found murdered in their home in Rampur, some 300 km from Lucknow, along with their granddaughter Ashiya.
Police suspect that Wazeer, the 35-year-old younger son of the couple, killed the three in a fit of rage. Wazeer is Ashiya’s uncle.
“Wazeer, who is absconding, did not have good relations with his parents and was forcing them to give him a major share of their property,” Rampur police spokesperson Pankaj Kumar told reporters.
“However, due to the bad company he kept, his parents were against giving him any share of their property,” Kumar added.
“Preliminary investigations reveal the three were killed with a sharp-edged weapon,” he added.
According to police, Amir, the elder son of the couple, also suspects Wazeer’s involvement in the killings.
