Obama hails New York police officers who responded to Time Square during bomb attempt

In NYC, Obama praises Times Square bomb responders
NEW YORK — President Barack Obama is thanking the New York City police officers who responded to the May 1 attempted bombing of Times Square.
White House spokesman Bill Burton says Obama told the officers Thursday that the city’s anti-terrorism efforts are a model for the rest of the country.
A Pakistani-born U.S. citizen is accused of trying to detonate a bomb-laden vehicle in Times Square.
Obama is in New York for a Democratic congressional fundraiser. He traveled to Buffalo earlier in the day to discuss the economy.
