MINSK - A Belarusian Russian Orthodox seminarian is being investigated for allegedly stealing money to spend on prostitutes, gambling and expensive mobile phones, reported the Belapan news agency.

The 22-year-old allegedly stole 210,000 rubles ($6,950) from a fellow passenger on a train from Moscow to the Belarusian town of Grodno.

When authorities caught up with him a few days later, he had spent the money in bordellos and casinos, according to a spokesman from the interior ministry, reported Belapan.
