Bus catches fire in Haryana, all passengers safe

KARNAL - A Haryana state transport bus caught fire at a village near here Tuesday but the passengers had a miraculous escape, police said.

The Haryana Roadways bus was completely gutted but the passengers, said to be over 40, jumped out of the vehicle in time.

Police officials investigating the accident said the bus caught fire due to a leakage in the diesel tank.

Though the fire brigade was informed immediately, the bus was completely burnt down.

The bus belonged to the Karnal depot of Haryana Roadways and was coming to Karnal, 130 km from Chandigarh.
