Five nabbed with 700 gram cocaine in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW - Five men were arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district and over 700 gram cocaine, worth Rs.30 lakh, was seized from them, an official said Friday.
“The five men were arrested late Thursday night from the Charra area in Aligarh. Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF (Special Task Force) nabbed them,” Additional Director General (ADG), Law and Order, Brij Lal told reporters here Friday.
However, two of their associates escaped during the operation, he said, adding teams have been constituted to apprehend them.
According to STF officials, of the five men, four are residents of Moradabad district, about 350 km from Lucknow, while one is a native of Aligarh, some 400 km from the state capital.
“Investigations are on. We are yet to ascertain where from the five brought the cocaine,” an STF official said.
