Chimp attack victim discharged from Ohio hospital
HARTFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut woman mauled by a chimpanzee last year has moved from an Ohio hospital to a medical facility in the Boston area.
Stephen Nash told The Associated Press on Friday that his sister, Charla Nash, left the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio on Thursday evening. He says she’s now in the Boston area, but declined to say where.
The Advocate of Stamford reported that Nash is now in a Boston-area medical facility.
The 200-pound chimpanzee went berserk in February 2009 after its owner asked Nash to help lure it back into her house in Stamford. The animal ripped off Nash’s hands, nose, lips and eyelids.
A Cleveland Clinic spokesman released a statement Friday saying Nash was discharged after making “great” progress.
