Goods train derails in Orissa

BHUBANESWAR - Seven wagons of a goods train derailed near the Orissa-Andhra Pradesh border early Saturday, affecting rail services in the region, an official said.

The accident occurred at 5.45 a.m. between Pundi and Palasa stations, said Murlidhar Sahu, an East Coast Railway spokesman. No casualties were reported.

Several long-distance trains were stranded at different stations following the derailment.

Three trains - Bhubaneswar-Palasa Express, Bhubaneswar-Vishakhapatnam Inter-city Express and the Vishakha Express between Bhubaneswar and Secunderabad - were cancelled. Ten trains ran behind schedule.
