LUCKNOW - The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police Friday claimed to have busted a gang, including Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men, involved in smuggling of arms and explosives with the arrest of four people, including two troopers.

“Those arrested are a retired sub-inspector (armourer) of the state police, two CRPF men and a constable (armourer) in the police academy,” Additional Director General (Law and Order) Brij Lal told reporters here.

“We are yet to ascertain to whom they used to supply the explosives,” he added. It was not clear yet whether they used to supply arms to Maoist rebels.
