NEW YORK - A porn star helped a US national escape a prison sentence in Puerto Rico for possessing underage pornography by testifying in court that she was actually 19 when the film was shot.

Carlos Simon-Timmerman, who is from Brooklyn, was put on trial in Puerto Rico for allegedly carrying child pornography, New York Post reported.

A dirty DVD called “Little Lupe the Innocent” was found in his bags when he passed through San Juan Airport security in August last year.

Officials stated that the actress in the video, porn star Lupe Fuentes, was underage. So, he was arrested.

Simon-Timmerman was saved from the jail term earlier this month after Fuentes flew to Puerto Rico and proved that she was 19 when the film was made. She produced her passport and photo ID.

“I’m thankful to her. It was a big relief,” Simon-Timmerman’s mom, Eff Simon, was quoted as saying.

She said that her son had gone to Venezuela where he bought the DVD in a flea market. He had gone to San Juan Aug 11 when the dirty DVD was found and he was arrested for child pornography.

Hector Ramos-Vega, his attorney, said he found out details of Fuentes on her website and and requested her to appear in court.

She asked for no money and was enthusiastic about helping, Ramos-Vega said.
