GHAZIABAD - A 22-year-old woman was found murdered here Thursday, an official said. The father-in-law of the victim is being questioned by the police in the matter.

Manju Chaudhary’s body was found lying in a pool of blood in her residence in Kavi Nagar Thursday afternoon. Her two-year-old son’s mouth was gagged, and the entire house was ransacked, police said.

At the time of the incident, Manju’s husband was at his office in Shastri Nagar.

“Her body bore three stab wounds in the neck and on the face. Her clothes were partly ripped. The house was ransacked but no clue was found of anything missing. The jewellery she had been wearing was found intact,” Superintendent of Police A.K. Vijaita said.

The victim’s parents alleged that she was murdered by her father-in-law Karmvir Singh, who they said had dishonourable intentions about their daughter.

Karmvir Singh is being questioned by the police in this regard.

“We are questioning him. Appropriate action would be initiated after investigation,” Vijaita said.
