PGI doctor dies after fall from fourth floor

CHANDIGARH - A junior doctor at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) died Monday after falling from the fourth floor of the institute’s building.

The body of the doctor, Nagender A.V., who hailed from Bangalore was found near the parking area of the institute’s Kairon block.

Police officials here investigating the incident said they were not ruling out the possibility of suicide. However, no suicide note was found from the victim.

The doctor, who was working as a junior resident at the institute, had come here January this year, police officials said.

He was residing in the doctors’ hostel on the PGIMER campus in Sector 12 here.

Police officials said investigations were in progress and the family of the victim has been informed in Bangalore.
