Bangalore Blast Delays IPL Match

BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)-Today afternoon a couple of low intensity blasts rocked Bangalore which took place near Chinnaswamy stadium. It has injured 8 people as per the latest reports. Some policemen have also become injured at the bomb blast. It took place just as the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore was about to begin. The match eventually started some time later. When the blast took place the cricketers were in the stadium.

The Bomb blast in Bangalore created sensation and the residents got panicked as one can expect. The explosive was kept near the gate no.12. So far no reports of death resulting from the blasts have been reported. The Police started searching the area near the stadium for more explosives and they also brought sniffer dogs for combing the area for clues. The injure victims were taken to hospital immediately. Shankar Bidari, the City Police Commissioner is leading the investigation and he updated the reporters about the bomb blast.

Shankar Bidari also said that the twin bomb blasts in Bangalore that took place today afternoon were not severe ones. However, forensic experts are going to examine the leftovers. Even though the bomb blast was not of a serious type the possibility of a mishap cannot be ruled out since a lot of people crowded the stadium to watch the IPL match. The Police have not said whether the blast was an outcome of the plans made by any terrorist or militant outfits. The possibility of such an attack during IPL matches is imminent, according to some media entities.
