INDORE - With the arrest of three people, Madhya Pradesh police Friday claimed to have solved a murder case in which four members of a family, including two infants, were brutally killed earlier this week.

Police claimed that the motive behind the case was robbery and said that the main accused in the case, Yogesh Nainwa alias Papia, was absconding.

Insurance agent Rajesh Malakar, his wife Sunita and their two children were murdered at their residence April 11.

Acting on a tip off, the police Wednesday arrested Rajendra Singh alias Sona (24) and Sachin Singh Chouhan alias Salman (26) from Ratlam bus stand when they were planning to go to Chittod. The third accused Vijay Kushwah (23) was later arrested here.

A thorough interrogation of the three till late Thursday revealed that the accused entered Malakar’s house under the impression that cash worth about Rs.2.5 lakh was there. But the criminals only found Rs.13,000, a mobile phone and some ornaments.

The family members woke up and resisted their move. While Rajesh and his wife were killed with sharp edged weapons, their children were strangled to death, the police said.

Police have announced a reward of Rs.15,000 for the arrest of Papia, the main accused.
