Delhi girl stabbed to death by lover

NEW DELHI - An 18-year-old girl was stabbed to death in a fit of rage by her neighbour and his associate, all residents of Metro Vihar, after the girl’s father fixed her engagement with another man, police said Thursday. Both attackers have been arrested.

The two were arrested after recording the statement of the girl’s father, who alleged personal enmity as the motive behind the attack.

After recording the statement of the girl’s father, we arrested Amit Kumar (22) and Mahesh Goyal (25), who were trying to flee Delhi, a police official said.

The duo confessed to their crime after interrogation.

Amit was in love with Soniya but her father wanted her to marry a man from their own community. In a fit of rage, Amit stabbed Soniya, whose engagement was planned for April 18, the official added.
