Four police personnel suspended over custody death

GHAZIABAD - Four police personnel were suspended and a criminal case registered against them Monday after the alleged custodial death of an accused during interrogation in a police station in Ghaziabad.
The incident happened in Bahadurgarh police station of Ghaziabad district.
The police said on the complaint of the wife of deceased, Dhirendra, a case was registered against the four police personnel - two sub inspectors and two constables. The four have been placed under suspension after a case was registered against them.
Dhirendra, who was wanted in a truck robbery case, was taken into custody earlier. During sustained interrogation he confessed to his crime. But Monday noon, he was found hanging in the custody cell of the police station, said Superintendent of Police (Rural) M.M. Beg.
