Major fire at Delhi plastic scrap market

NEW DELHI - A major fire engulfed a plastic scrap market in west Delhi early Sunday. No one was injured, an official said.

The incident took place around 2.20 a.m. in Mundka area.

“The blaze spread in the entire two km area of the plastic scrap market. We immediately rushed 30 fire tenders and the blaze was brought under control after five hours,” the fire official said.

According to the fire department, prime facie it seems that the market was set on fire deliberately by some people. Police are investigating.
