Maid confined, raped by domestic help

NEW DELHI - A 20-year-old maid was raped by a domestic help in the servants quarters of a building complex in Barakhamba area, police said Sunday.

“The incident took place last month on March 23 and 24 at servant quarters of a building complex in Barakhamba area. A Lok Sabha MP also stays in that complex. However, it came to light Saturday only when the victim told her neighbours about the incident. The accused, Prem Malik (28) had threatened her of dire consequences if she informed police,” a senior police officer said.

“Medical examination of the victim confirmed rape. She is a resident of Dakshinpuri area in south Delhi. The victim told us that Malik kept her in confinement,” the officer said.

“Malik has been arrested and a case has been registered. Malik claimed that he was the domestic help of the parliamentarian staying in the complex. This is being verified,” the police officer added.
