INDORE - Four of a family, including two children, were found murdered here Sunday, police said.

The bodies of Rajesh Kumar, who ran a grocery shop, his wife Sangeeta and two children were found in their Clerk Colony residence. All of them were killed with a sharp-edged weapon.

“The amount of blood in the house and the injury marks show that the deceased fought the assailants to try save their lives,” Indore Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Srinivas Rao told IANS.

Rajesh had been instrumental in getting a gang of thieves nabbed recently. He had also tipped police about a suspected flesh trade racket operated in the colony by a woman who had moved there recently.

Police have registered a case and are investigating. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
