6,000 Haryana constables take on-line test

CHANDIGARH - Six thousand Haryana Police constables, including 367 women, Saturday appeared in a computerized exam for promotion to head constable.
It is mandatory for all serving constables to clear the exam before getting promoted.
The state police has been conducting the exam on a regular basis for the last three years at all district police headquarters.
“Questions at this examination are of the objective type and the candidates are required to answer by clicking the computers mouse on the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ option,” said a police spokesperson here Saturday.
All the questions are related to the functioning of the police department, including various sections of law and issues pertaining to investigations and controling crime, he said.
The candidates can also check their result on the spot after completing the exam, he added.
