Haryana police bust IPL betting gang, 5 arrested

SIRSA - The Haryana police in this town Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of bookies who were running a betting racket on Indian Premier League (IPL) matches being played currently.
A police department spokesman said five people were arrested on the spot for this racket late Tuesday.
He said police recovered goods worth lakhs of rupees from them, including 77 mobile phones, five landline phones, three box chargers, 30 mobile chargers, four switch boards, one laptop, two coloured TVs, 26 mobile batteries, five laptop chargers, two calculators, nine account registers and other material.
Giving details, the spokesman said a shop was raided by the police team following a tip-off that some people were betting on IPL cricket matches there.
