Two children burnt alive in Delhi slum fire

NEW DELHI - Two children were burnt to death while their parents were injured in a fire in a slum cluster in south Delhi Thursday, an official said.

The fire, caused by an electric short-circuit, engulfed three slums in the Dhobi Ghat area of Jamia Nagar around 6.45 a.m., a fire official said.

“The charred bodies of five-year-old Gudia and three-year-old Raja were found at the spot. Their parents suffered burn injuries and were rushed to Safdarjung hospital,” the official added.
