Domestic help beaten to death

NEW DELHI - A 36-year-old domestic help was beaten to death by her employer for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery, police said Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkumari Devi was a domestic help of Devender Bindra. She was beaten to death by her employer and his three associates for allegedly stealing cash and jewellery from the house, said a police official.

“Devender, a resident of Yamuna Vihar area, runs a hardware shop and found cash and jewellery missing on Wednesday. When Devi reached his home Thursday morning, Bindra held her hostage and beat her for hours,” the officer said.

The victim was taken to G.T.B. Hospital where she was declared brought dead, he added.

“Bindra has been arrested while other family members are absconding,” the official said.
