Two killed in Delhi accident

NEW DELHI - At least two people were killed and two others suffered injuries when a car ran over a group of labourers in south Delhi, police said Saturday.

“The accident took place at around 11 p.m. Thursday when a Tata Safari ran over four labourers working at a road construction site. They were rushed to a hospital where Umed Yadav and a 25-year-old man were declared brought dead,” a senior police officer said.

“The deceased were natives of Bihar. Two other who suffered injuries are undergoing treatment and one of them is critical,” the officer said.

“The number plate of the car had fallen off at the accident site and with its help, the car owner Balbir Singh was tracked. However, at the time of the accident the car was being driven by Balbirs driver Anil Kumar Tyagi. He will be arrested soon, the officer said.
