India sends home 17 Pakistani nationals

AMRITSAR - India Friday released 17 Pakistani nationals at the Attari border joint check post in Punjab.
Out of the 17 Pakistani nationals repatriated, 14 were in New Delhi’s Tihar prison for various offences like over-staying, illegal entry or travelling on forged documents.
Three others were in jails in Rajasthan.
The Pakistani nationals freed said that they were happy to be heading back home.
“We have served prison terms in India. We are also very eager to return to Pakistan,” M.S. Khan, who in Indian prison for 13 years, told reporters.
Meanwhile, 54 Pakistani prisoners in Amritsar prison were extended consular access by the Pakistan High Commission.
