PHOENIX — Several motorcycles have been involved in a crash with a garbage truck on the northern edge of Phoenix that has left at least three people dead and several others seriously injured.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon in the area of 27th Avenue and the Carefree Highway, which was expected to be closed for several hours.
