Missing home ministry official found

NEW DELHI - An under-secretary in the home ministry, missing since he left his west Delhi home Wednesday afternoon, was Thursday found lying unconscious near his house.

K.V. Singh, an under-secretary with the relief and rehabilitation section of the ministry, left his home in the Vikaspuri area around noon to withdraw cash from an ATM. He was missing since then, according to the missing person report his family members filed with police.

Singh was found unconscious around 5 a.m in the morning and was admitted to the Chanan Devi hospital in Janakpuri, police sources said. His wallet, watch and a chain he was wearing were missing.

Since he was not in a condition to speak, the details of what happened are yet to be known.

Singh is slated to retire March 31.
