NEW DELHI - A city court Monday issued bailable warrants against the investigating officer and an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) for failing to file charge sheet in the alleged gang rape of a private firm employee by three Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ajay Kumar Pandey issued the warrant of Rs.5,000 for April 14. The court expressed unhappiness over the fact that Delhi Police had not filed the charge sheet in the case.
“The IO as well as the supervising officer always appear late in the case, on many occasions they have not even appeared. Therefore, it is contempt of court. The victim is facing problems due to them. The delay in the case is because of these people,” said court.
According to the complaint, a senior executive with a private firm engaged in contract work for the DJB was allegedly raped by three DJB officials at her rented house after they offered and she ate a drug laced pastry Oct 8, 2006.
The accused had allegedly also videotaped the crime to blackmail her.
