NEW DELHI - The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) Friday said that nearly a fortnight had passed since two girls of Kirori Mal College complained of sexual harassment by two college professors but no action had been taken.

Two girls of Kirori Mal College March 3 filed a complaint of sexual harassment against two professors of Urdu department of their college - Saba Karim and Khaif - DUSU vice president Kriti Wadhera told IANS.

“The girls had filed the complaint with the college complaints committee stating that the professors tried to take undue advantage as they were heading the internal assessment division in the college. The girls had complained that the two professors used to ask the students to come out with them for movies and walks,” she said.

“But till date they have not heard anything from the college. Today (Friday), DUSU’s anti-sexual harassment committee submitted a memorandum to the proctor of Delhi University regarding this case,” she added.

Asked about the issue, Delhi University’s proctor Gurmeet Singh said: “I have no idea regarding the matter.”

Warning of DUSU’s own action, Wadhera said: “If no action is taken in next few days, then DUSU will take its own action. We will call for a strike and take further action.”
