Criminal arrested for murder of two RPF troopers

NEW DELHI - Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested a criminal who was wanted for the murder of two troopers of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), police said Thursday.
The accused, Parvez Chaman, was arrested Wednesday from the Yamuna Vihar area of northeast Delhi on the basis of specific information. He was wanted for the murder of two RPF jawans (troopers), who were stabbed to death last year. A reward of Rs.25,000 was declared by the Delhi Police Commissioner for his arrest, said a senior police officer.
The police recovered a pistol and three live cartridges from Chaman’s possession.
Last year in May, Chaman and Rashid had stabbed two RPF personnel to death. Though Rashid was arrested after a few days, Chaman was absconding till he was arrested Wednesday, the officer added.
