Three Nigerians, 2 Indians nabbed for credit card fraud

KOLKATA - A city court Monday remanded five people, including three Nigerian, in 14 days of police custody in a credit card fraud case.

The Kolkata Police arrested three Nigerian nationals - Peter Orenabi Olunwagbenga, Benson Oladetam Adams and Leena Orenabi - Sunday night for their alleged involvement in a credit card forgery case. The police also caught hold of two Indians, Manish Agarwal and Ankik Shaw, who were involved in the racket.

While Olunwagbenga was arrested from Kolkata Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport, the other members of the gang were arrested from Picnic Garden and Mullick Bazar area of

Kolkata, police said.

All the five arrested men were brought before the chief metropolitan magistrate, who sent them to police custody till March 22.

According to police sources, a multinational bank had earlier reported to the Kolkata polices detective department that their clients were complaining of illegal transactions in the credit card accounts which were made without their knowledge.

Police said the gang used to operate in a very sophisticated manner.
