Undertrial dies in Ghaziabad jail, 10th in a year

GHAZIABAD - A prisoner died in Dasna jail in Ghaziabad Friday, making it the 10th such death in a year.

Jail Superintendent V.K. Singh said Bhupendra Pal, 24, who is facing a trial in a murder case, was in the jail since Dec 15 last year.

Around 4.30 a.m., Bhupendra complained of severe pain in his chest. He was initially given first aid in the jail hospital but later referred to the district MMG Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His uncle and his father are also lodged in the same jail, the official added.
