Air India employees suspended on molestation charge

KOLKATA - Two Air India employees were suspended Tuesday by the airline on charges of ‘misbehaviour and alleged molestation of a nine-year-old girl at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International airport here.

Complaints were lodged with the Airport Authority of India of misbehaviour against these two workers, following which they were suspended, an Air India spokesperson told IANS.

The girl was at the check-in counter with her mother and was on her way to Boston via Frankfurt on a Lufthansa flight.

A baggage handler of Air India, Ahamed Reza, was later arrested by the police and the loader’s assistant, Binoy Sanyasi, was detained for questioning.

The incident took place at 1.45 a.m.
