Feds probe small plane crash in Silicon Valley
EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. — Federal investigators are examining the site of a small plane crash in a Silicon Valley neighborhood that killed three employees of electric car maker Tesla Motors.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board were on site Thursday trying to reconstruct what happened by interviewing witnesses and inspecting wreckage and skid marks on the street.
The twin-engine Cessna 310 went down in East Palo Alto Wednesday after taking off from a nearby airport shrouded in fog.
It crashed into a residential street after striking a high-transmission power line. No one was injured on the ground.
Investigators plan to release a preliminary report on their findings next week. The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The twin-engine Cessna 310 went down in East Palo Alto early Wednesday after taking off from a nearby airport shrouded in fog. It crashed into a residential street after striking a high-transmission power line. No one was injured on the ground.
Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are on site Thursday trying to reconstruct what happened by interviewing witnesses and examining weather conditions, skid marks on the street and the wreckage itself.
They plan to release a preliminary report on their findings next week.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
