Couple gunned down by assailants in Haryana

ROHTAK - A couple was gunned down by unidentified miscreants, who forcibly entered their house in this Haryana town, police said Monday.

The criminals entered the house Sunday night.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Krishan Kumar and his wife Indravati.

On hearing the gun shots, neighbours reached the spot and found the couple lying in a pool of blood. They were immediately shifted to PGIMS (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science) here where they succumbed to their injuries, said a police official.

He added: From the preliminary investigation, it seems that there were five armed assailants. We have informed all the police check-posts and we are raiding various places.

Rohtak is around 225 km from state capital Chandigarh.
