Brendan Burke, Son Of Brian Burke, Dies In Car Crash

TORONTO, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com)- Brendan Burke, the youngest son of Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke has died in a car crash. The 21 year old died after succumbing to the injuries that he suffered in the car crash which took place after he lost control of the 2004 Jeep Cherokee on U.S 35 in Indiana. In the vehicle, Brendan Burke was also accompanied by his 18 year old pal Mark Reedy, who also lost his life in the car crash on Friday.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accident which led to the untimely death of Brian Burke’s son, occurred when his car slipped sideways along the path and collided with a pick-up truck. Although Brendan Burke and his companion died on the spot, the 24 year old driver of the truck Michael Moreland managed to escape unscathed. At the same time, investigators have revealed that the accident which took place near the town of Economy, was the consequence of the adverse weather conditions and intense snowfall that the region had been experiencing which made the roads highly dangerous. The unfortunate demise of Brendan Burke, has come as a rude shock to his family and especially to his father Brian Burke, who is also the general manager of the United States men’s hockey team that would be competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the Toronto Maple Leafs issued a statement in which it confirmed the news that Brendan Burke has died in a car crash. At the same time, Larry Probst, US Olympic Committee chairman has expressed his dismay at the death of Brian Burke’s son in the car crash.
