NEW DELHI - Two robbers shot at a 34-year-old collection agent in a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus in the heart of the national capital Friday evening.
The assailants opened fire at Vimlesh in their attempt to rob him in a low-floored bus plying between Tri Nagar and Jheel around 5 p.m.
When the bus reached Mandir Marg, two men tried to snatch his bag which he resisted. It led to commotion among the bus passengers and the driver stopped the bus and opened the doors.
“The assailants opened fire at Vimlesh and a bullet hit his hand. They snatched his bag and fled. One of their associates was following the bus in a motorcycle and they escaped on the motorcycle,” a senior police official said.
Vimlesh was taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital and is undergoing treatment.
