Haryana police raid various places to arrest Ranjit Bajaj

PANCHKULA - Haryana police have sent teams to various places in other states to nab Ranjit Bajaj, the son of a former bureaucrat couple in Punjab, who was booked Jan 29 on the charge of attempt to murder.
However, police refused to disclose the exact places where the teams have been sent.
District police chief Maneesh Chaudhary told IANS Thursday: “Our investigation is on and Ranjit is not at his house in Chandigarh. Therefore, we have sent our teams to raid his possible hideouts at different places.”
“I cannot disclose the exact locations where we have sent our teams, and the findings of our investigations so far as it might hamper the case proceedings.”
A case was filed against Ranjit, the son of retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers B.R. Bajaj and Rupan Deol Bajaj, following a complaint from Gurmohan Singh Bedi, son of sitting Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge M.M.S. Bedi.
In the complaint, Gurmohan said that Ranjit along with two private security guards hit him with weapons at the North Park resort here over a parking argument at the winter ball of St John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA).
He said that Bajaj threatened to kill him after a verbal duel.
Rupan Deol Bajaj, who is now an information commissioner in Punjab, told IANS: “Ranjit is not here, he has gone out of station to take part in some auditions. He was in Delhi when he came to know that a case has been registered against him. I do not want to divulge any further details.”
