Cyclist run over by executive’s car in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A 60-year-old man on a bicycle was mowed by a car of a private firm executive in the national capital Sunday, police said.

Aman Mittal, 28, ran over Cheetal at 6 a.m. at India Gate area, a police officer said.

“Aman’s Santro car turned turtle after hitting the man, who died on the spot. Medical tests have confirmed that Aman was driving under the influence of alcohol,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) S. Dash told IANS.

Passersby informed the police about the accident and Mittal was arrested from the spot, he said.

Mittal, a resident Khirki village in south Delhi, works as a junior executive with in garment factory in Gurgaon.
