Body of abducted Bihar businessman found

PATNA - The body of a businessman who was abducted Jan 20 was found here, police said Thursday.

Police said Bhagwat Mehta, a hotel owner, was kidnapped while he was returning home Jan 20. His body was found Thursday in Danapur area. The family eceived two calls from the kidnappers asking for a ransom of Rs.25 lakh for his release.

Mehta’s son Chandrajeet Prasad had registered a case of kidnapping last week.

Kidnapping for ransom is rampant in Bihar. Lawyers, doctors and wealthy businessmen are the prime targets of the kidnappers.
