MCD to take police help to check parking mafia

NEW DELHI - Alleging that unauthorised parking sites are being run by a mafia of traffic policemen and civic agency staff, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Wednesday said it would approach the city’s police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal for stern action against them.
A large number of parking sites are being run in nexus with some staff of the Delhi Police, traffic police and the MCD,” Ram Kishan Singhal, chairman of the MCD Standing Committee, said while presenting the budget estimates for 2010-11.
“We should directly approach the police commissioner to curb the parking mafia,” he said.
