700 convicts given remission of term in Delhi

NEW DELHI - Around 700 prisoners of the Tihar Jail have been given remission of sentences by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Tejinder Khanna on the occasion of the 61st Republic Day, an official said here Wednesday.

“The Lt. Governor granted remission to 700 prisoners on the grounds of good conduct,” said a jail official.

The official said convicts who have completed sentence of more than 10 years have been given remission of two months.
