CHANDIGARH - Seven people, including four women, were killed Tuesday when their van collided with a passenger train near Gothya railway station in Haryana’s Bhiwani district.

Deputy Commissioner Vikas Gupta said five people were injured in the accident that took place at an unmanned railway crossing about 300 km from here. The victims were headed to a funeral.

The van’s engine failed just when it was crossing the railway track. The speeding Sadalpur-Hisar passenger rammed into it, killing four people instantly.
