United Airlines to give Haiti quake donation
CHICAGO — United Airlines said Thursday that it will match up to $50,000 in customer and employee donations made through its Web site to aid victims of Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti.
The funds will go to the American Red Cross, United said.
United, which is a unit of UAL Corp., said that members of its Mileage Plus frequent-flier program and employees are donating miles to nonprofits through its Charity Miles program.
The company added that it is working with disaster relief agencies to decide how to help with airlift relief efforts.
