Badly burned teen is back in a Miami hospital

MIAMI — A South Florida teen who was doused with rubbing alcohol and set on fire is back in a Miami hospital.

Jackson Health System spokeswoman Lorraine Nelson said Michael Brewer was admitted to Holtz Children’s Hospital on Sunday and is in serious condition. He had been discharged from Jackson Memorial Hospital on Dec. 22.

Nelson said she didn’t have any additional details of Brewer’s current condition.

Brewer was the target of a gruesome attack in October that left him with burns on about 65 percent of his body. Police say the 15-year-old was attacked by other teens at an apartment complex.
