Fla. teen set on fire released from hospital

MIAMI — A hospital official says a teen who was doused with rubbing alcohol and set on fire by a group of other teens has left the Miami hospital where he was being treated.

Jackson Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Lorraine Nelson says 15-year-old Michael Brewer of Deerfield Beach was discharged Tuesday afternoon.

The Oct. 12 attack caused burns on about 65 percent of Brewer’s body.

Prosecutors have charged three teens as adults with second-degree attempted murder. Two others were arrested shortly after the attack and later released.

Brewer’s recovery is not over. He will still need more therapy and time at the hospital as his recovery continues.
