Woman, son killed in tusker attack in Jharkhand

RANCHI - A herd of wild elephants attacked a Jharkhand village Wednesday morning and trampled a woman and her son to death, police said.

According to the police, the elephants entered Thethwe Tangar village of Simdega district and demolished a house. A mother and son sleeping in the house were trampled to death. The tuskers also destroyed the standing crops.

Over 750 people have been killed in elephant attacks in Jharkhand in the last eight years.
