NOIDA - An electronic firm’s security guard was stabbed to death by five unidentified men after he foiled their attempt to rob the warehouse of the firm here Wednesday, police said.

The robbers sneaked into the premises of the warehouse of Samsung Electronics Ltd. in Noida Phase II at 3.30 a.m.

It was being manned by four guards. While three of them, Devendra, Vijay Shankar and Dev Pratap, were sitting inside a room, Sandeep (22) was out patrolling.

Sandeep spotted the robbers and stopped them but was stabbed when he offered stiff resistance. His shouts for help went unheard, the police said.

“We are screening their role as to why they did not help their colleague in spite of his screams,” Superintendent of Police A.K. Tripathi said.

A critically injured Sandeep then stumbled on to the main road and sought help from security guards of a neighbouring unit, who informed the police. He was then rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
