Rio de Janeiro, April 6 (IANS/EFE) Robbers broke into the apartment of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s daughter and stole a computer and other objects, police said.

The criminals entered the apartment of Lurian Cordeiro da Silva, an adviser to the Florianopolis city government and one of the president’s daughters, through an open window and took a personal computer and a video gaming console besides other objects, police said Monday.

Lurian was alone in the apartment in Florianopolis, capital of the southern state of Santa Catarina, when the robbery took place but she did not notice that thieves had entered there. Her two children, aged five and 12, were not at home.

News about the robbery has been given to the 10-member presidential team responsible for Lurian’s safety.
