DAYTON (GaeaTimes.com)- A terrible plane crash took place in South Dayton on Apr 1, killing the two people who were on board, that is, the pilot, Thomas Hausfeld, and his daughter, Kacie Hausfeld. The accident occurred shortly after the private plane, called the Beechcraft Bonanze, had taken off. It was headed toward the DuPage Airport in West Chicago, where the pilot was supposed to pick up his younger daughter. After he had taken off, the pilot was informed that one of the cargo doors of the plane had not been closed properly. He made a turnaround and was returning, but could not make it to the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport, and crashed midway.
After the plane crashed, the rescue party could not immediately recognize the victims. It was being expected by the authorities that it would take at least the whole of Friday to complete the process of identification. However, the process was complete before Friday was over. One of the deceased, Kacie Hausfeld, it was found, was a student of the University of Dayton. She was also a member of the women’s volleyball team.
The University of Dayton has arranged a memorial service for the deceased Kacie Hausfeld and Thomas Hausfeld. The prayer service is scheduled to be held on Apr 5, at the Immaculate Conception Church, from 9 in the morning. The faculty and the students of the university remember Kacie Hausfeld as a loving, helpful, eager human being, and they extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The coach of the volleyball team commented that it is necessary for all to stick together in such tough times.
